It is with great pleasure that I can finally announce the launch of my website to host my book Colombian Airmail – A Collector’s Notes and Comments.
This has been some years in the making and with some trial and error in terms of finding a place for it to live online.
After pondering some about whether it was best to share the work on Wikipedia or to put up my own site to host the book, I decided on the latter.
I thought this was the best way to maintain editorial control.
I am more than eager to accept the thoughts and contributions of fellow collectors to add to the richness of information in the book, and hosting the book here means I can easily add in contributions myself to maintain editorial control.
I invite you to take a read on this site or download the PDF to read offline at your leisure.
And of course I await your comments and contributions in due course.
Dear Barry,
I have no comments as I am not a stamp collector and don’t know too many things about stamps.
I have been trying to find you for 20 years.
My name is Laura Conda (maiden name Dogaru) and used to live in Romania.
Many, many years ago we started corresponding due to a mistake of the Romanian postal services. I stopped writing to you when I became a student as I was afraid of the repercussions of the communist system.
After the events of 1989 I wrote letters to all my foreign friends and a few answered back. You were one of them.
The last time I wrote to you was on the day Princess Diana died.
I have written to you several times since then, but in vain.
I have been trying to look you up the Internet but, again, nothing.
Till today, when I found this blog for your book.
I know it’s you because you told me you were a specialist in international taxation and a radio amateur.
I I’ll leave you my e-mail address in case you want to write me back.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Wishing you all the best,
Laura
